Julie has extensive experience in the field of education, children’s services and digital technologies, having fulfilled a wide variety of teaching, management, consultancy and advisory roles across both the private and public sectors. Julie is extremely well organised and perceptive and is used to collecting and interpreting research data and evidence. She has been working on BSF and Academy programmes since 2006.

Julie is a highly skilled and experienced communicator who has experience of working with a broad range of public and private sector personnel. Her thirty years in education give her credibility and an understanding at both strategic and operational levels. She is used to working with Local Authority key personnel, college and school leaders and is equally as confident with senior leaders in large private companies. Julie was formerly a Senior Teacher Advisor before entering the private sector as a specialist consultant. She wrote several modules of the ‘Leading from the Middle’ programme for the national College of School Leadership.

In 2003, Julie was the National Teacher of the Year in recognition of her outstanding work with students with Special Educational Needs at Westleigh High School, Wigan. The school was recognised nationally as a flagship for inclusion.
